It has been a pretty eventful and tough opening few months in Arsenal colours for their big-money summer signing from Chelsea.
But, during these last few weeks, Kai Havertz has started to find his feet, including scoring in back-to-back games.
Many expected the Arsenal midfielder to keep his place for the team’s Saturday clash against Wolves, but Mikel Arteta opted to start Leandro Trossard instead.
Ian Wright feels a reason behind that is because Leandro Trossard provides ‘more control’ and Kai Havertz just ‘isn’t at the level yet’ to produce that, as he told Premier League Productions (02/12/23 at 2:50 pm).

“Arteta knows he has got that up his sleeve, especially with Havertz now he has got confidence by scoring in his last couple of games,” said Wright.
“I think Trossard gives him a little bit more control. In a game where we are going to need to control – he gives us that little bit more stability and Kai maybe isn’t at that level yet, in respect to the trust Mikel will have in him, at the moment.”
Will Kai Havertz start for Arsenal at Luton Town on Tuesday night?
On paper, this seems like a walk in the park for the Premier League title hopefuls and all three points.
But tell that to Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool who needed a late equaliser just to walk away from Kenilworth Road with a point.
This isn’t going to be easy for Arsenal, but expect changes from Arteta, especially with Aston Villa coming up on Saturday evening. This isn’t going to be easy for Arsenal, but expect changes from Arteta, especially with Aston Villa coming up on Saturday evening.
It wouldn’t be a surprise if Kai Havertz does start and Mikel Arteta starts to rotate his players ahead of a very busy schedule.
After Manchester City’s enthralling 3-3 draw against Tottenham, it means that Arsenal’s lead at the top is two points after 14 matches.
