Every single team in the league is packed full of quality players, everyone in the game is an athlete of the highest level, and the gap between the best and worst players in the league is as narrow as it ever has been.
However, there are a few players who, on their days, can stand head and shoulders above the rest, and one such player is Declan Rice.
The midfielder made a mockery of his opponents against Brighton this weekend, and speaking on Off The Ball, Pat Nevin was astounded by just how dominant Rice was during the game.
Nevin said that Rice looked like an adult playing against kids at times, claiming that only Erling Haaland in the Premier League can also make the game look that easy.

Nevin shared his verdict on Rice.
“There are very few players you say this about, but he’s like an adult with kids, he looks a bit like that in some games, it’s incredible at that level. Haaland looks a bit like that sometimes when he’s playing, but he does, he absolutely does look like that,” Nevin said.

It has to be said that Rice is a joy to watch when he plays in this way.

It’s almost as though there’s a force-field around him at times, because nobody can get near him.
His incredible combination of strength, speed and intelligence means he’s always in space, and it almost looks as though he’s playing the game at his own pace.
Of course, Rice isn’t as influential as someone like Haaland due to his position and the fact he doesn’t score 40 a season, but in terms of being able to dominate an opponent, Rice is right up there with the best in the league.
