Kai Havertz and Edu Gaspar left amazed by £27m Arsenal player’s display last night

Kai Havertz and Edu Gaspar have both sent messages to Gabriel Magalhaes after Arsenal’s dramatic win over Luton Town last night.

The Gunners picked up a 4-3 victory at Kenilworth Road after a thrilling 90 minutes of action. Declan Rice popped up with a last-minute header to hand Mikel Arteta’s men all three points after it looked as if they’d have to settle for a draw.

Arsenal took the lead midway through the first half as Bukayo Saka set up Gabriel Martinelli after some quick-thinking from Gabriel Jesus.

Mikel Arteta’s men headed into the break 2-1 up after Jesus’ effort on the stroke of halftime. But Luton grabbed two quickfire goals through Elijah Adebayo and Ross Barkley to hand them a surprise lead in the second half.

Kai Havertz quickly levelled things up on the hour mark. But Arsenal had to wait until the 97th minute to find a winner against a spirited Luton side.

And while Arsenal’s attacking players have earned much of the plaudits after last night’s win, Havertz and Edu Gaspar have praised Gabriel Magalhaes following his display at centre-back. Edu and Havertz amazed by Gabriel display
Gabriel took to Instagram last night to express his delight at picking up yet another three points on the road.

He wrote: “Never give up!! We are Arsenal!!”

Edu and Havertz both left emojis beneath the post, suggesting they were impressed with the Brazilian’s showing.

While Arsenal shipped three goals last night, Gabriel barely put a foot wrong at centre-back.

Indeed, the £27 million was helpless to prevent Luton’s first of the night as Gabriel Osho netted from a corner.

David Raya’s display will understandably be called into question after he could have done better for Luton’s second and third goals on the night.

Despite a shaky performance from the Spaniard, Arsenal found a way to win once again and that will be an encouraging sign for Arteta.

It’s no secret the Gunners haven’t hit their best form this season but they currently sit five points clear at the top of the table.
