Goals either side of half-time from Jack Grealish and Rico Lewis put City in good stead for a comfortable win at the Etihad, but Jean-Phillipe Mateta pulled one back to set the stage for a nervy finish. The Palace striker was then fouled by Phil Foden in the box and Michael Olise levelled it in added-time from the penalty spot.
City have now gone three consecutive home league games without a win for the first time since 2016 and are on their lowest points tally after 17 games under Pep Guardiola. A number of their title rivals play today and there will be much change before the Blues' next domestic game after Christmas, but MEN Sport has taken a look at how their next six Premier League games stack up against the others.
City - 4th (34pts)
Verdict: City are currently three points behind league leaders Liverpool but that could increase to nine by Christmas. Guardiola's side have no Premier League game next weekend due to their participation in the Club World Cup and face a tough trip to Everton the day after Boxing Day.
Home games against Sheffield United and Burnley should yield six points but that trip to Newcastle in mid-January will be a really tough fixture, as will the journey to Brentford before Sean Dyche's side come to the Etihad. City already cannot afford to drop many points so will need close to a perfect run during this spell.
Liverpool - 1st (37pts)
Arsenal - 2nd (36pts)
Aston Villa - 3rd (35pts)
Tottenham Hotspur - 5th (33pts
