This weekend is going to be fascinating. Manchester City are not playing against Brentford as they compete in the Club World Cup.
That presents Mikel Arteta’s side with the chance to extend their lead to eight points. But that would require Arsenal to go to Anfield and beat Liverpool.
The Reds are another side yet to find their best form this season. However, they are very much in the mix this term, having been at the summit of the division before the weekend.
So it would be a huge statement if Arsenal could put more daylight between themselves and City at the expense of Liverpool.
