Mikel Arteta‘s side are expected to be active in the January transfer window. They have been linked with quite a few players already, and Aston Villa midfielder Ramsey is the latest name to come out of the rumour mill.

Arsenal’s recruitment staff really like Aston Villa’s Jacob Ramsey
Aston Villa are the surprise package in the Premier League this season, and Unai Emery’s side are third in the table, above Manchester City and just a point behind leaders Arsenal.
The Villans have been magnificent. They completely deserve to be where they are, and a number of their players have performed brilliantly so far.
Ollie Watkins has been the star in attack, while Douglas Luiz has been bossing games from the heart of Aston Villa’s midfield – both players have been linked with a move to Arsenal.
Now, a third name has come up.
The Daily Mail claim that just like Luiz, Jacob Ramsey is highly rated by the recruitment team at Arsenal ahead of the January transfer window.
The 22-year-old has had issues with injuries, but everyone knows how talented he is. He has all the qualities to be a top player, and under the right manager, he could become a star in the coming years.
Arsenal already have Emile Smith Rowe
Jacob Ramsey is a tremendous footballer, but Arsenal don’t need him.
The Aston Villa star is naturally an attacking midfielder, but he can play as a number eight and also out wide on the left flank. That sort of versatility is great for managers to have, but Arsenal already have someone who can do just that – Emile Smith Rowe.
The Englishman has had a torrid 18 months due to injuries, but everyone in the country knows just how good a player he is when he’s fit and firing. He can score goals, create chances and works tirelessly for the team.
We think Smith Rowe is a level above Ramsey if he can stay fit, which means Arsenal don’t really have to look at the Aston Villa man, unless they are looking to cash in on their own number 10.
