Report: Arsenal have now made contact with agents of 'incredible' £120m attacker ahead of January

Arsenal are among the clubs keen on signing Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and have apparently already made contact with his agents over the move.

Osimhen is to sign a new contract with Napoli but that won’t stop speculation about his future.

The Nigerian striker is one of the hottest properties in Europe and his goals and performances have caught the eye of Europe’s biggest and best. Among them, are Arsenal and Chelsea.

Arsenal have been looking for a new striker for some time. Ahead of January, they are being tipped to make a move for a top forward, with Ivan Toney among those being mentioned.

However, reported via Area Napoli, Italian journalist Ciro Venerato has said that Arsenal have indeed touched base over signing Osimhen.

“The last stumbling block was the termination clause of the contract, which is now outdated: 130 million is the right figure, but it cannot be ruled out that it could be 140 million if clubs with a high turnover approached him.

“The Nigerian will tie himself to the Italian champions until 2026, extending by just one year. In fact, it is a planned farewell, a gentleman’s pact to leave without resentment. Osimhen will have a salary of €10 million. There will also be a signing bonus. Arsenal have already sounded out agent Calenda, Chelsea are also on his trail,” Venerato said.

Victor Osimhen to Arsenal would be massive news
There are some signings that really catch the eye and Arsenal landing Victor Osimhen would be one of them.

The ‘world-class‘ Nigerian – dubbed ‘incredible‘ by Mario Balotelli – seems destined to leave Naples at some point and it’s little wonder the big dogs in England want to sign him.

With Arsenal, you do feel they are one missing piece away from being a dominant force in England along with Man City.

Osimhen ticks all the boxes for the Gunners. He is quick, direct, and crucially, completely different to anything they have in the squad at the moment.

Arsenal are so, so close to being Premier League champions. If they sign Osimhen, you’d have to say they are then favourites to claim the title.

Quite whether they’ll shell out a cool £120m or not, especially in January, remains to be seen.
