Estevao, who is still only 16, is the latest in a long line of South American talents currently being courted by Europe’s biggest clubs.
The talented teenage winger is already playing for Palmeiras and after seeing teammate Endrick strike a deal with Real Madrid, Estevao could be next.
According to a report from 90Min, Chelsea remain the best placed English club when it comes to signing Estevao. However, the same report also names Arsenal and Manchester United as being among the clubs keen on landing the teenager.
Of course, Arsenal have a vested interest in the Brazilian market and have seen huge success with the signing of Gabriel Martinelli. Likewise, the Gunners have also invested in a number of Brazilian players like Gabriel Magalhaes, Gabriel Jesus, and Marquinhos.
90Min reports that PSG could also pose a big problem for English clubs looking at Estevao. The French side have a long-standing interest in him and having missed out on Endrick, want to make a splash.
Arsenal could tempt Estevao with Brazilian connections
We all know what Chelsea are trying to do and it’s little wonder they are once again being linked with players like Estevao and other Brazilian youngsters.
Todd Boehly seems intent on stockpiling the very best young players from around the world and in a way, it’s an admirable strategy to take.
However, Arsenal might well be a club that appeals to players like Estevao even more.
The Gunners are very much in the title race and Mikel Arteta has also shown he’s not afraid to throw players in if he thinks they are good enough. See Ethan Nwaneri, for example.
Estevao, described as a set-piece specialist by TeamTalk, is obviously a massive talent and Brazil are producing right now. Arsenal, then, might be wise to push the boat out here and beat Chelsea to the signing.
