Pertinently, the two sides will square off in the Premier League tonight, a game that could therefore be a further scouting opportunity for Moyes.
As much as Mikel Arteta may desire a new striker at Arsenal, David Moyes has been bereft of a goal-scorer at West Ham for far too long.
Michail Antonio has been a consistent performer but is never likely to score 20 goals or beyond in one season.
And with that in mind, it now seems that David Moyes wants Arsenal to return the favour after West Ham parted ways with Declan Rice.
According to The Standard, Moyes is known to be a big admirer of Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah, a player who could leave North London in the near future.
Despite his good moments, Nketiah hasn’t quite produced the consistent levels to demand a first team spot at Arsenal.

And with Arsenal now demanding a fee of £50m for Nketiah in January, a player they value much higher than Folarin Balogun, there could be some temptation for West Ham.
Fans will hope that the Declan Rice money won’t all be gone just yet, and would surely love to see a player like Eddie Nketiah arrive.
David Moyes is very keen to bring Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah to West Ham
Although they seem unlikely to push for a mid-season exit, a move could also suit Arsenal.
The 24-year-old is a fan favourite at the club, but a departure could fast-track a move for a target like Ivan Toney.

Brentford were said to be willing to accept a reduced asking price if Arsenal were willing to pay in one installment.
And although Mikel Arteta seems to prefer to plan his major business for the summer, this could be an opportunity too good to refuse.
Similarly, for West Ham and David Moyes the Arsenal striker would be a massive boost, a player who still has so much potential.
And perhaps some at Arsenal may even worry just how well Nketiah may progress as a club’s leading man.
It’s a delicate situation to manage, and that’s perhaps why it is most likely to wait until next summer.
