Report: What Arsenal have made clear to clubs hoping to sign 'special' 23-year-old star next month

Arsenal have informed potential suitors of their stance on selling Emile Smith Rowe heading into the January transfer window.

Emile Smith Rowe is one member of the Arsenal squad who appears to be in need of a move away from the Emirates, whether it be next month or in the summer.

The 23-year-old has made one league start since the beginning of last season. And he has been an unused substitute seven times in the Premier League this term.

Arsenal tell admirers Emile Smith Rowe is going nowhere
Newcastle are very interested in Smith Rowe. And you would not be entirely surprised if a host of top-flight rivals were also monitoring his situation given that he has been directly involved in 30 goals in 106 games in all competitions.

But Arsenal are not planning to let him go. Football London reports that the Gunners have made it clear to his admirers that Smith Rowe is going nowhere in January unless an outrageous offer comes in.

Gunners right to look to keep academy graduate
You can understand why Arsenal would want to keep Smith Rowe in the ranks for the second-half of the season. Once again, Mikel Arteta’s side are going for the Premier League title. And it does not even feel like they have found their best form yet.

If they suffer a couple of big injuries, Smith Rowe is probably going to end up with a prominent role again.

MORE ARSENAL STORIES
Smith Rowe is a ‘special‘ talent who was a shining light and scored 10 league goals during the 2021/22 season.

Having said that, Arsenal will have their own targets next month. And if they need to sell to buy – Gabby Agbonlahor has suggested selling Smith Rowe to fund a move for Ivan Toney – letting Smith Rowe go may not be the worst idea.

Smith Rowe meanwhile, will surely be conflicted about the idea of leaving. This could be a special season for Arsenal. But he must surely be fearful about whether he will ever play regularly again while he remains at the Emirates.
