Arsenal put in a brilliant attacking display over the weekend as they picked up yet another important win in the Premier League.
The Gunners blew Wolves away in the opening 20 minutes, with Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard getting on the scoresheet.
Arsenal’s second goal summed up their start to the game as Oleksandr Zinchenko set up Odegaard after a sweeping move.
Mikel Arteta’s men continued to dominate thereafter but failed to make the most of their opportunities.
Matheus Cunha grabbed a late consolation goal to set up a nervy last 10 minutes after a mistake from Zinchenko.
Indeed, the 26-year-old was dispossessed on the edge of the Arsenal box and Cunha produced an emphatic finish to beat David Raya.
Paul Merson was unimpressed with Zinchenko’s mistake, claiming he dithered on the ball. And it seems the Arsenal defender was also disappointed after a lapse in concentration.
What Zinchenko was spotted doing at full-time after Wolves mistake
In a video posted on X, Zinchenko can be spotted talking to Raya after the full-time whistle.
The full-back looked visibly disappointed with his error and then walked over to applaud the Arsenal supporters.
Despite the mistake, Zinchenko put in a decent performance at left-back and helped Arsenal dominate the game as he drifted into midfield.
It’s a rare occasion the Ukraine international is caught on the ball. But Arteta feels the former Man City man will learn from the mistake.
Zinchenko produced an exceptional assist earlier in the game and can hold his head high after a solid showing.
Arsenal remain top of the table after the 2-1 win over Wolves and fortunately for Zinchenko, his error didn’t cost his side in the end.
