William Saliba fires warning to Newcastle amid honest Arsenal admission

Arsenal defender William Saliba has fired a thinly veiled warning to Newcastle United and West Ham United following his side's 6-0 victory over RC Lens. The Gunners were hugely impressive in the UEFA Champions League clash, with six different players scoring on the night.

After the full-time whistle, Saliba admitted that the reverse fixture against the Ligue 1 outfit was still on his mind, with Lens winning 2-1 at the Estadio Bollaert-Delelis Stadium back in October. Speaking to Canal Plus, the 22-year-old said: "When I go back to the country (France), I want to win, so that first match stuck in my throat a bit.

"We have qualified, we are first, and we will try to finish well against PSV. When a team beats us, we want to then beat them. We watched videos from the first match, looking at what we did well and what we did poorly and that worked.

"At home, it was easier for us." The fact that a game from eight weeks ago was still on his mind shows Saliba and his Arsenal teammates won't forget a loss easily.

That could spell bad news for West Ham and Newcastle, who are the only other teams to defeat the Gunners this season. Mikel Arteta's side lost 3-1 to the Hammers in the Carabao Cup last month before tasting a 1-0 defeat to the Magpies in the league just a few days later.
