Timber’s afternoon has been documented in a vlog on Arsenal’s YouTube channel as the Dutchman continues to work his way back to full fitness.
Jurrien Timber was, of course, dealt the devastating blow of suffering a serious injury on the opening day of the new season following his move in the summer.
Jurrien Timber told Bukayo Saka he’d score first against Wolves
It was Timber who attempted to challenge Brennan Johnson. However, in the process, the defender injured himself and had to come off shortly after. Unfortunately, there is a question mark over whether Timber will play again this season.

Nevertheless, he is keen to play as big a role in Arsenal’s season as possible. And he was at Saturday’s clash with Wolves at the Emirates to cheer on his teammates from the stands.
In fact, Timber was just outside the dressing room before the players went out onto the pitch. And as they headed out, the 22-year-old stopped Bukayo Saka to inform him of a prediction he was making before the game.
“I said that you’re going to score first today,” Timber said. “I said inside far corner of the goal.”
Arsenal star didn’t let defender down
Of course, that prediction would prove to be correct. Saka would open the scoring with his fifth league goal of the campaign. In all competitions, he is up to eight, with 11 assists along the way too.
Obviously, you could say that it was a fairly safe prediction. But it shows the confidence Timber has in Saka that he was willing to speak to him so soon before the game.
The pair would speak immediately after the full-time whistle also, with Timber telling Saka: ‘You’re welcome’.
It is certainly unlikely to be the last time Timber backs Saka to get the opening goal.
