Indeed, the Gunners’ recruitment team are hard at work figuring out which players could potentially improve their squad, but, unfortunately, many of the players they want are unattainable this month.
Speaking on The Done Deal Show, Ben Jacobs has shared some insight into the players Arsenal want to sign, and he’s named both Martin Zubimendi and Douglas Luiz as players that Arsenal would 100% take right now if they could.

Arsenal would take Luiz and Zubimendi
Jacobs shared what he knows about Arsenal’s targets.
“If I was listing Arsenal targets right now, I would say Zubimendi and Luiz, 100% they would take them if they could and they would probably move for Ivan Toney if the price was right. That’s three big targets there and I wouldn’t rule out two midfielders coming in,” Jacobs said.
Not likely
As much as the Gunners would like to sign Zubimendi and Luiz, we can’t see either of these deals happening in the near future.
Both players are very happy where they are and they’re both on the verge of something very special.

Luiz may win a Premier League title with Aston Villa, while Zubimendi has taken his local club to the Champions League knockout stages.
A mid-season move for either of these two players is highly unlikely, but perhaps by the time the summer rolls around they will be more attainable.
Arsenal have found it very difficult so far this month to get anything moving in the right direction on the transfer front, and we don’t have much hope for these two moves getting over the line either.
