The Portuguese left-back has yet to impress with the Premier League side this season, with Tavares reportedly set to return to Arsenal later this month.
With Olympique Marseille already rumoured to be interested in signing Tavares, it appears that Arsenal are doing all they can to offload the 23-year-old before the deadline next week.

And now, according to Fabrizio Romano, the Gunners are ‘100% open’ to selling Tavares to Marseille on a permanent transfer, though Forest first need to send the defender back to north London.
Once labelled as ‘extraordinary’ by former Marseille manager Igor Tudor, a return to France could be a wise decision for Tavares and for Arsenal, especially if they can get a fee for the fullback.
Indeed, the north London side selling Tavares for a profit would be quite the achievement for Mikel Arteta’s side, and it could open the doors for the Gunners to make a signing or two of their own.

Tavares once had the promise of being a real asset for Arsenal having arrived from Benfica in 2021 for a relatively cheap deal, with the defender also impressing at Marseille last season.
Yet it’s pretty clear now for all to see that the Portuguese youth international doesn’t have what it takes to make it in the Premier League, with Tavares hardly playing for Forest this season.
As a result, Arsenal must now do all they can to sell the 23-year-old left-back, a process that could be accelerated if Forest allow the defender the right to return to north London in the coming days.
With Marseille already interested in Tavares, a deal could soon be reached with the French club for the defender, and Arsenal might soon find themselves in a position to make a key January signing.
