Perhaps Ivan Toney has been the name most linked with Arteta’s team in the last few months.
However, 23-year-old Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface is also said to be on the radar – a striker who looks more than capable of solving Arsenal’s finishing woes.
That being said, the Nigerian striker was recently speaking on ‘The Obi One Podcast’ with John Obi Mikel.
And when discussing Granit Xhaka’s impact at Leverkusen this season, Boniface admitted to being a long-term Arsenal fan.

He said: “Me, right from my younger days, I have been an Arsenal fan so I understand what you’re saying about Granit!
“Granit has brought experience, maturity, he’s a top professional.
“We have a young squad but with Granit it’s like we have been playing for a long time because he talks to us and tries to help us a lot.”
Victor Boniface could solve Mikel Arteta’s finishing woes at Arsenal
Boniface currently has 16 goals in 23 games this season for Xabi Alonso’s side – numbers that dwarf any player in the Arsenal squad.
10 of those goals have come in the Bundesliga with four also being delivered in the Europa League.
Boniface looks to be enjoying a sharp upwards trajectory since leaving Norway’s Bodo/Glimt in 2022 and looks a stellar signing for any top European side.
It seems that the striker is unlikely to move until the summer, however, that could suit Arsenal’s plans perfectly.
Although fans would love to see the club’s finishing woes addressed in January, Arsenal are unlikely to produce a knee-jerk reaction.
Instead it seems the club will pursue a defender this month, with a £62m Chelsea player now a surprise target.
Arsenal now have 12 days without a game, a period that looks crucial to the success of the remainder of their season.
Arteta has now called for fans to stay behind his team, and it’ll be interesting to see how the coming weeks unfold.
