In terms of those new arrivals, a striker option is a possibility as the side look to add a clinical edge to their game, while midfielders and defenders could also be on the cards. With plenty of rumours continuing, here's a look at the latest Arsenal January transfer rumours.
Kylian Mbappe
Amid links with a move to Arsenal, journalist Sam Dean has claimed that a deal for Kylian Mbappe is unlikely as the star enters his final six-months under contract at PSG. Speaking on The Arsenal Beat podcast, he said: "Shall we do it, shall we address the Mbappe issue? I think everyone knows that isn’t going to happen due to the wages he would demand and the structure Arsenal have in place. Yes there’s no transfer fee, but I imagine the signing fee would be substantial to sign Mbappe as a free agent."
He did continue to say: "But let’s suspend the financial reality for a moment. One thing I would say about the Mbappe situation is that if he’s looking around Europe for clubs he could go to, there aren’t many, and I think Arsenal would be very much on the list of appealing ones. A young, up-and-coming squad, in Europe, there’s the Thierry Henry factor, there’s a lot there in Arsenal’s favour. That pull is enormous right now, but I think the wages alone would be mind-boggling, so I can’t see that one happening."
Takehiro Tomiyasu
One Arsenal player that has been linked with a possible exit in the coming weeks is defender Takehiro Tomiyasu, who is nearing the end of his contract with the club. The Gunners are looking to keep hold of him though, as the Daily Mail claims that talks over a new contract have begun.
Ousmane Diomande
Arsenal have made early contact with the family of Ousmane Diomande over a possible switch for the Sporting CP defender in the near future, claim Football Insider. The 20-year-old has impressed for the Portuguese outfit, having become a regular in the team, with a release clause worth £70million.
