Arsenal-linked Santiago Gimenez touted for Premier League move as West Ham identify Feyenoord…

WHAT HAPPENED?
The hitman has been in excellent form for Feyenoord since joining from Cruz Azul in 2022. He has scored a whopping 18 goals in 16 appearances in the Eredivisie this season and 43 in 67 in total for the Dutch side. Gimenez has caught the attention of several teams and The Times claims West Ham could make a move for him.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Feyenoord are eager to keep the striker who helped fire them to the Eredivisie title last season until the summer at least. However, West Ham could come in for him in the January window as David Moyes seeks to address some short-term absences after seeing Jarrod Bowen and Lucas Paqueta sustain injuries, while Mohammed Kudus is off to the Africa Cup of Nations with Ghana.

DID YOU KNOW?
The 22-year-old, who has also been linked with a move to Arsenal, is contracted to the Rotterdam side until the summer of 2027 and coach Arne Slot has admitted they may end up selling him for the right price.

He told Voetbal International: "Suppose a club comes along for Santiago Gimenez that offers €60 million (£52m/$66m) and the club agrees, then I wouldn't lie down. I can't even do that. If it is good for Feyenoord and the player wants it, why would I object?'"

WHAT NEXT FOR WEST HAM?
Having seen Kudus and Edson Alvarez impress in the Premier League since joining from Ajax, West Ham could attempt to lure another Eredivisie sensation to east London before the January transfer window closes.
