‘I can confirm that’: Fabrizio Romano says there's a signing that's a real possibility for Arsenal this month

Arsenal have been linked with a new striker and a new midfielder throughout the January transfer window.

The north London club have been linked to the likes of Ivan Toney and Douglas Luiz within the Premier League as they look to plug their problem positions at the Emirates.

However, according to Fabrizio Romano, there’s another signing in another position that is now a real possibility for Mikel Arteta’sMikel Arteta side.

Speaking on Kick, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Arsenal are now in the market for a new full-back, claiming that they could absolutely sign someone in that position this month.

Arsenal could sign a full-back
Romano shared what he knows about the Gunners’ transfer plans.

“A new full-back for Arsenal? Yes it is a possibility, it is a possibility for Arsenal to bring in a new full-back in January. They have to see what opportunity they can find, if it’s a loan deal, but Arsenal are exploring options in that position, they are in the full-backs market, I can confirm that, there is a possibility, there is a chance, we will have to see, but I think it’s a possibility,” Romano said.

Do they need one?
A new full-back appears to be on the agenda at Arsenal, but we can’t help but question if this is truly a necessary piece of business.

Yes, there are issues at left-back right now, but we’re not far away from both Oleksandr Zinchenko and Jurrien Timber being back fit and available for selection.

In our view, there are much more obvious holes in this Arsenal squad both in midfield and up front as well as on the right wing.

Arsenal have plenty of solid full-back options, and while injuries are taking hold right now, those issues should subside before too long.

It’s certainly worth keeping an eye on Arsenal signing a new full-back this month.
