Perhaps it may be something of a surprise to see the Leicester City player wading in on Mikel Arteta’s future plans, but Coady was fairly adamant in this case.
It’s long been discussed that Arsenal will need to add a striker to their squad in the summer in order to progress their project to the next level.
Whilst Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah are both excellent players, they are simply not complimenting each other in a duo.
Arteta needs a striker who can rival the goals of Erling Haaland and Mohamed Salah at Manchester City and Liverpool respectively.
And to that end, it seems two clear choices have emerged for the summer: Ivan Toney and Victor Osimhen.
Both strikers are among Europe’s elite, two profiles who would definitely benefit Arteta’s project.

However, it was Osimhen’s future Coady was discussing on this occasion, telling the Arsenal target to make the move to North London.
Conor Coady tells Arsenal target Victor Osimhen to head to North London this summer
Coady was speaking on the BBC’s ‘The Monday Night Club’ and was discussing Osimhen’s future on the back of reports suggesting he’ll leave Napoli this summer.
The £94m will definitely not be short of suitors, but Coady was convinced he only needed to look in one direction.
Speaking on the podcast, Coady said: “The ideal choice for him and the club is probably Arsenal, in where they are at now.
Everyone is talking about Arsenal needing a striker and you talk about Toney all of January and he kind of shut it down, so I think it is something where the most ideal one [is Arsenal].
“Especially where they are now. They are challenging Manchester City and Liverpool, they have put themselves in that bracket, and I think getting a world class striker through the door probably takes them a step closer.”
The perfect fit
Of course, Coady’s advice to the Arsenal target does seem pretty spot on.
Whilst there are plenty of exciting projects for Osimhen to join across Europe, few are better set for a striker to thrive than at Arsenal.
Playing between Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka should be a dream for any striker, and Arsenal now look primed to win trophies.
That being said, one manager has been urging his club not to sell a midfielder Arsenal are interested in.
