It feels like these two parties are destined to be linked with one another until the end of time at this point.
One day the deal is on, the next day it is too expensive, there’s a real game of chess going on between Arsenal and Brentford at the moment, and it will be interesting to see how this unfolds.
Speaking on the Chasing Green Arrows YouTube channel, Dean Jones has been discussing the latest in the Toney story, and he says that while the message coming out is that Toney won’t be leaving this month, he’s suggested that if an offer came in, the striker would absolutely take it.

Toney would take Arsenal offer
Jones shared what he knows about the ‘world class’ player.
“I’d be amazed if they didn’t go to Brentford and ask this question right now, but they haven’t done it. The message is that he’s not going right now, but Toney has given off all the vibes that he wants to join Arsenal over the past six months. If an offer landed I can’t believe that he wouldn’t take it, I just can’t believe it,” Jones said.
Big problem
Convincing Toney to join Arsenal was never going to be the hard part of this negotiation.

The striker has basically admitted himself that he wants to join a big club very soon, and Arsenal are right in that mix as one of the biggest teams in England that need a striker.
However, convincing Brentford to sell Toney is another matter entirely.
The Bees are flirting with a relegation battle at the moment, and with Bryan Mbeumo out injured for the foreseeable future, they need Toney now more than ever.
Toney has been touted as a £100m player, and if that is indeed the pricepoint of this deal, it wouldn’t be a shock if Arsenal did indeed have to back away.
