Arsenal and Liverpool are back in action this afternoon as they meet at the Emirates Stadium in the third round of the FA Cup.

Both Arsenal and Liverpool would have had real hopes of winning the FA Cup this season, but they now meet in the third round.

That means one side will be bowing out of the competition, so there is plenty at stake this afternoon.

Arsenal go with Aaron Ramsdale in goal as he is given a rare chance to shine with David Raya only on the bench.

William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes feature as centre backs once again with Ben White and Jakub Kiwior in the full back positions.

Jorginho comes into midfield this afternoon, meaning Declan Rice may push forward to join Martin Odegaard in supporting the attack.

Kai Havertz features in attack rather than midfield, with Bukayo Saka and Reiss Nelson on the flanks, allowing Gabriel Martinelli to sit on the bench today.

Martinelli is joined by Raya, Cedric Soares, Reuell Walters, Lino Sousa, Emile Smith Rowe, Ethan Nwaneri, Leandro Trossard and Eddie Nketiah.

Liverpool have resisted temptation to bring Caoimhin Kelleher into the side today with Alisson starting between the sticks.

Ibrahima Konate and Jarell Quansah are the centre backs today with Virgil van Dijk not involved at all due to illness.

Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez are the full backs today with Alexis Mac Allsiter sitting in midfield.

Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott will play further forward, supplying the front line of Cody Gakpo, Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez.

Diogo Jota is on the bench, joining Kelleher, Ryan Gravenberch, Bobby Clark, Luke Chambers, Kaide Gordon, James McConnell, Conor Bradley and Trey Nyoni.
