The likes of Ivan Toney and Victor Osimhen have been linked throughout January, and now, there’s a potential loan rumour that is doing the rounds.
Indeed, Karim Benzema is being linked with a move to Arsenal as he continues to become more and more unhappy with life at Al-Ittihad.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the player is training on his own, and speaking on the Handbrake Off Podcast, Adrian Clarke has advocated for this move.
In fact, Clarke has gone as far as to say that Arsenal should spend £500k-a-week to sign Benzema until the end of the season, claiming that he could be just what Arsenal need right now.

Pay Benzema huge wages
Clarke spoke about the Frenchman.
“If the wages weren’t what they are then definitely, 100%. I don’t know what he earns but it’s apparently over £1m-a-week. If the Saudi club said to contribute £500k-a-week between now and the end of the season I think it would be money well spend, he’s a very good player still and he would be that goal machine we do lack up front,” Clarke said.
Could be worth it
£500k-a-week is silly money, let’s be honest, but if Benzema scores the goals that take Arsenal to the Premier League or Champions League title he will be worth it.
MORE ARSENAL STORIES
As Clarke says, Benzema is a goal machine, and he’s scored in the biggest games time and time again.
Last season, Arsenal wilted under the pressure as it came down to the crunch period, but with a proven winner like Benzema in the team, that shouldn’t be such an issue.
It is a long-shot, and it would be a shock if it happened, but if Arsenal were somehow able to get this deal done, it could be a transfer masterstroke.
