Brian Brobbey is a fantastic prospect, and there’s every chance he will become a star in a few years’ time.
Arsenal, however, have a very young squad already, and the last thing they need is another youngster they need to develop up front before he can lead them to glory.
Mikel Arteta needs a prolific goalscorer right away to give his side the best chance of winning the Premier League title this season.
As good as Brobbey is, he’s not at that stage just yet, which means Arsenal should be looking elsewhere.
Arsenal have joined Manchester United in the race to sign Ajax striker Brian Brobbey.
The two historic English clubs share a similar problem this season – they’re struggling in front of goal. Arsenal, in particular, need a new striker, and The Mirror have now linked Brobbey with a move to the Emirates.
Arsenal have looked at Brian Brobbey
Arsenal have won just one of their last seven games in all competitions, and their biggest issue in those games has been scoring goals.
Mikel Arteta is getting his tactics spot on. His side are creating plenty of chances, but for one reason or another, the attackers seem to have forgotten how to finish.
That has led to several suggestions that Arsenal should sign a new striker this year, preferably before the window closes later this month.
The Gunners have been linked with a move to sign plenty of forwards already, and Ajax’s Brian Brobbey is the latest name to come out of the rumour mill.
The 21-year-old Dutchman is having a decent season for Ajax despite their struggles. He has scored 12 goals already – more than what Arsenal stars Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus have managed so far this term.

Manchester United have also been linked with a move to sign Brobbey, but the report says he’s only a target for the Red Devils in the summer.
It further says Arsenal have ‘cast an eye’ over the youngster now.
