Report: Mikel Arteta now thinks £12m Arsenal player is one of the most intelligent he has ever coached

Mikel Arteta reportedly thinks Arsenal midfielder Jorginho is one of the most intelligent players he has ever coached.

The Italian international joined from Chelsea last year in a deal worth £12m, with Jorginho since establishing himself as a popular member in the Arsenal dressing room.

A regular in the midfield this season, Jorginho has proven to be a welcome addition to Arsenal’s squad, with the former Chelsea man bringing experience and leadership to the midfield.

And according to the Evening Standard, Arteta views the 32-year-old as one of the most intelligent players the Basque manager has ever coached in his career.

Indeed, whilst Jorginho isn’t going to be a long-term member of this current Arsenal squad, it’s clear that Arteta highly rates the Italian international since making the move to north London last year.

And for the likes of Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard, Jorginho will be viewed as a player to look up tp after everything the midfielder has done for Chelsea and the Italian national team in recent years.

And this season has shown that the midfielder has become an influential member behind the scenes at Arsenal, with Arteta clearly a massive fan of the Italian international and what he does on the training pitch.
