You don’t need us to tell you that. It’s been stated on almost a daily basis for six months now as Arsenal hunt for a new striker.
The Gunners need a new centre-forward, and Toney is a player they’re said to be very keen on.
However, a move this January looks unlikely as Arsenal are forced to toe the line in terms of FFP, and according to Ben Jacobs, there are a couple of plans that the Gunners may have in mind for Toney.
Indeed, speaking on The Done Deal Show, Jacobs says that Arsenal could seriously look at signing Toney in the summer, or, more intriguingly, they could look at signing him on a free in the summer of 2025.

Arsenal could sign Toney on a free in 2025
Jacobs shared what he knows about the striker.
“Arsenal could move for a forward, but only if the right name became available. I still think that they could look very seriously at Ivan Toney in the summer or even on a free in the summer of 2025, but I think they’re very aware they can’t get him in this window for under £100m,” Jacobs said.
Too far away
This isn’t really what Arsenal fans will want to hear.
Arsenal need to strike while the iron is hot, they have an exciting young squad at the moment and they need to make the most of it.
In 18 months’ time, things could look so different. Everything changes at such a rapid pace in football, and Toney could be joining a team in 2025 that isn’t as ambitious or as exciting if things don’t go right.
Free agent signings can be worth waiting for sometimes, but Arsenal need to solve their striking issues sooner rather than later.
