Gabriel Jesus laid the ball off for the 24-year-old, who opted for a first-time chip that beat the keeper and dipped perfectly under the crossbar.
It was a great finish that seemed to raise a few smiles on the training ground, and Nelson will be hoping he gets the opportunity to do when Arsenal are back in action.
The Hale End graduate is once again having to make do as a back-up this season. He has 18 appearances under his belt, but just four have been starts.
