Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard has done something that puts him in league with Mesut Ozil

Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard has been a revelation for the Gunners ever since making that initial loan move at the Emirates Stadium.

Now, ahead of Arsenal‘s Premier League trip to Burnley, the Gunners media team has published a stat that shows another key impact he has made at the club.

Odegaard has a penchant for creating chances, and at Arsenal, his record is now just behind Gunners cult heroes Mesut Ozil and Cesc Fabregas.

The 25-year-old has created a Premier League chance every 37 minutes on average while in red and white.

This puts him behind Ozil, who averaged a chance created every 27 minutes, and Fabregas, who has a minutes-per-chance ratio of 32 minutes.

In addition, Odegaard has created the joint highest amount of chances in the Premier League this season, equal with Bukayo Saka on 61.

Only Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes has created more chances than the Arsenal duo. He is currently on 70.

Odegaard has come a very long way since joining Arsenal, and he is not only living up to his potential, but going above and beyond.

The Norwegian was one of the best youngsters in world football when he joined Real Madrid at just 16 years of age back in 2015.

However, things didn’t quite go to plan for Odegaard at the Bernabeu, and for a while there were worries he wasn’t going to achieve his potential.

He was on their books until 2021, but he only made a few senior competitive appearances for them.

Odegaard also took in four loan spells, including the one at Arsenal that led to the Gunners signing him permanently.

The Gunners reportedly paid just £30million for the 24-year-old. He has repaid that fee many times over, and still has most of his career ahead of him.

Odegaard has been so important for Arsenal that he recently penned a new long-term deal reportedly worth around £240,000-a-week (Spotrac).

As one of the Gunners’ youngest captains in recent years, let’s hope he will soon get the chance to lift the biggest trophies in English and European football.
