Arsenal have decided to sell Albert Sambi Lokonga in the upcoming summer transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.
The Gunners are prepared to part ways with the 24-year-old midfielder regardless of his performances during his loan spell at Luton Town.
Lokonga joined the Hatters on a season-long loan deal in September having failed to make his way into Mikel Arteta’s first-team plans over the summer.
Sources say that Lokonga ‘has no future’ at Arsenal following his spell at Luton, with the North Londoners ready to look for suitors in the summer.
The Belgian midfielder has made 39 senior appearances for Arsenal since joining them from Anderlecht in 2021 but he has never nailed down a spot in Arteta’s starting line-up.
He was sent out on loan to Crystal Palace and Luton to gain experience, but Arsenal are losing patience with the Belgian midfielder.
Lokonga has failed to consistently impress under Luton boss Rob Edwards following his move to Kenilworth Road.
He has made just 10 appearances across all competitions this season, with six successive league appearances across December and January.
Lokonga spent the second half of the 2022-23 season on loan at Crystal Palace but struggled to make an impact at Selhurst Park during his short stay.
After starting seven straight games for the Eagles after his loan deal was confirmed, Lokonga was dropped to the bench for the final weeks of the season
