Fabrizio Romano says Arsenal are ‘well informed’ about Amadou Onana
Arsenal were linked with a move to sign Amadou Onana before he joined Everton from Lille.
The 22-year-old has been with the Toffees for over 18 months now, and he has really impressed. He has all the qualities you’d want from your midfielder, and it’s only a matter of time before he leaves Goodison Park for a bigger club.
Arsenal will have a lot of work to do in the summer. Jorginho and Mohamed Elneny are both nearing the end of their contracts, while there’s a chance Thomas Partey could leave the club as well.
Irrespective of what happens with all of the above, they need to sign a new midfielder, and Onana has been of interest for a while now. He was even named the top target in last month’s transfer window, but FFP regulations prevented Mikel Arteta’s side from making a move to sign him.
Now, Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Arsenal continue to appreciate Onana and are still ‘well informed’ about his situation. The journalist also says there’s a big chance he leaves Everton in the summer.

In his Daily Briefing, Romano said: “There will be many clubs keen on signing Amadou Onana this summer, for sure.
“Arsenal appreciate him and are well informed but I already mentioned also Martin Zubimendi, they have to decide what kind of player they want to sign and it won’t be decided in February, it will take some time.
“In any case, Onana is attracting interest and I think he has a good chance to move in the summer.”.
Amadou Onana is faster than Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli
Amadou Onana is one of the tallest outfield players in the Premier League, standing at 6ft 5in tall.
Usually, players that big aren’t the quickest, but the Everton midfielder surprised everyone this season by clocking a top speed of 36.65kmph (Premier League’s official website).
To put that into perspective, no player in Arsenal’s entire squad has registered a higher speed than Onana. William Saliba is the quickest Gunner with a top speed of 34 kmph.
Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka are nowhere near Onana either, with the two 22-year-olds clocking top speeds of only 33.9 kmph and 33.21 kmph respectively (SpeedsDB
