Despite a defeat to Porto in the Champions League last night, Arsenal have been in fine form in the league.
Mikel Arteta’s men have picked up five consecutive wins in the Premier League, scoring 21 goals in the process.
The Gunners landed a statement win over Liverpool earlier this month and followed it up by thrashing both West Ham and Burnley on the road.
Michail Antonio was watching on from the sidelines as Arsenal beat his side 6-0 at the London Stadium. And the Hammers striker feels Arteta’s men can’t be dismissed as potential champions.
Antonio on ‘ridiculous’ Arsenal
Speaking on The Players Channel, Antonio lauded Arsenal’s recent form in the league.
He said: “We can’t skip Arsenal [for the league]! Arsenal are kicking butt!

“They battered Liverpool, they smoked us with a cigar, they went to Burnley and I was like oh another jolly day. They have been on one! How they are playing is ridiculous.”
Arteta’s side do seem to have found their best form at an ideal time. Arsenal were struggling for form over the festive period but have returned from the winter break with a new-found confidence in front of goal.
Arteta will certainly be hopeful that last night’s defeat in Porto was just a blip in the road after his side have dazzled in recent weeks.
It’s also interesting to hear Antonio speak so honestly about West Ham’s heavy home defeat to the Gunners.
In fairness to Antonio, West Ham are likely to be fully aware of their struggles on that particular day.
As for Arsenal, they will be keen to prove they can sustain this type of form for the remainder of the campaign. It’s no secret that they missed out on a title last time out due to falling away towards the business end of the season.
