From Arsene Wenger’s departure to the present day, it feels like the club has transformed on more than one occasion.
Ivan Gazidis and Raul Sanllehi both had stints in key roles at Arsenal, and with Unai Emery coming and going, it felt like there was so much instability at the club at one point.
Speaking on the Arseblog Podcast, Charles Watts has been discussing the changes at Arsenal in recent years, and he says that for the first time in a long time, the club feels very united.
Watts noted that even when he goes to the training ground, everything seems in sync with key figures such as Tim Lewis and Richard Garlick often being visible figures at London Colney, a stark contrast when compared to past eras at Arsenal.

Arsenal training ground is different now
Watts shared what he’s noticed at Arsenal recently.
“The club now feels very united, and you feel that when you walk around the training ground. People are there and you see people now, whereas before you didn’t. Richard Garlick and Tim Lewis will be there, they’re all around the place, it feels like a well-oiled thing, but it was never like that before, the only way a club can be successful and the only way to challenge Man City is for everyone to pull in the same direction,” Watts said.
It’s working
It sounds as though synergy is key at Arsenal at the moment, and it’s fair to say it’s working.
The Gunners have made huge strides on and off the pitch over the past 18 months, and it really does feel as though everyone at the club is pulling in the same direction towards a common goal – winning the Premier League.
Of course, whether or not Arsenal can achieve that goal remains to be seen, but the north London club are in the best position they have been in for a long time to push on and make a real charge.
