The Gunners were cruising to an emphatic victory against the Hammers. They had taken a 4-0 lead before the break. And any hope of one of the most stunning comebacks was dashed when Bukayo Saka made it five with a superb finish in the second-half.
But, perhaps aware that Arsenal started the day six goals adrift of Manchester City in the Premier League table, Mikel Arteta clearly wanted more.
Mikel Arteta appears briefly frustrated with Bukayo Saka in Arsenal win
Arsenal have posted their latest Bench Cam from the game, and one clip shows Arteta throw his arms up in frustration after Saka played a pass for Gabriel Martinelli.
Martinelli had made a run across the pitch. And perhaps Arteta was not happy to see the Brazilian used when Ben White was flying forward on the overlap.
The funny thing is that White then received the ball from Martinelli and his pass ends up in the path of Declan Rice. And of course, Rice just decided to find the top corner with a sumptuous strike from way out. Rice went on to not celebrate after making the scoreline 6-0.
Gunners boss demanding more and more from his side
It was no surprise that Arsenal were not as lethal in the second-half. Everyone could see that the three points were in the bag. And Arteta also went on to bring on the likes of Cedric Soares, Mohamed Elneny and Ethan Nwaneri.

But crucially, standards did not slip either. Arsenal did not start sending the centre-backs forward needlessly while they sensed that they could potentially reach double figures.
And that was shown by Arteta making it clear how annoyed he was as Saka played the ball. For many of us, it is not entirely clear what has annoyed him. Perhaps the pass is overhit in his eyes. Perhaps he wants White to receive that pass. And perhaps he wants Martinelli putting himself in the penalty area.
But it says everything about how good Arsenal were that even those moments ended up with a goal being scored on Sunday.
