'My guy': Edu Gaspar and Gabriel Martinelli blown away by 24-year-old Arsenal player's performance yesterday

Kai Havertz played his part yesterday as Arsenal managed to see off Liverpool in a tense game at The Emirates Stadium.

German forward Havertz started as the main focal point in attack but dropped deep throughout to make Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate’s day a bit more difficult than they wanted.

In the end, despite not getting on the scoresheet, Havertz showed why Mikel Arteta signed him in the summer and it’s clear as well that he is a popular member of the first-team squad.

Indeed, Havertz appears very much appreciated throughout the club and after taking to Instagram to celebrate the win yesterday, a number of Arsenal players and staff were quick to praise him.

Among them, were Arsenal chief Edu Gaspar and key players Gabriel Martinelli and Martin Odegaard, who were quick into the comments to show the German some love.

He might not be a goal scorer or a player who is going to produce so many moments of magic each game that Arsenal fans really notice him. But what Havertz is doing right now is contributing to the cause and finally showing why the club signed him.

Against Liverpool, he did cause problems for the Liverpool defence with his size and movement and there were times when Van Dijk and Konate didn’t know where to go.

For Arsenal to have a chance of winning the league or anything else, they need their big names to perform and it does look like Kai Havertz is just starting to tick a bit.

Remember, this is a player with a Champions League final goal on his resume and that should not be overlooked.

Arsenal signed Havertz to help them in big moments and going into the final few months of the campaign, you just get the feeling the German will have his day.
