Report: £166m player would actually be willing to join Arsenal because of Thierry Henry

Kylian Mbappe would actually be willing to join Arsenal at some stage – because of Thierry Henry.
That is according to the Independent.

So, what has been said about Kylian Mbappe and Arsenal? Let’s take a look…

Kylian Mbappe willing to join Arsenal
Well – according to the Independent – the France international believes he should have left PSG a while ago, and is now considering his options with free agency on the horizon this summer.

Interestingly, it is said that Mbappe would happily join Arsenal.

The PSG No.7 is said to think a lot about legacy when it comes to making his next move, and holds an appreciations for history in football.

That is why Mbappe would be willing to join Arsenal – as the £166m striker uses Henry’s career path as something of a guidance tool.

The Frenchman made 377 appearances for Arsenal during his memorable playing career – while also appearing 141 times for Monaco.

Mbappe himself has made 60 appearances for Monaco, and if Arsenal found the finances to sanction a deal, the 25-year-old could become even more alike his idol.

The Paris-born striker has scored 30 goals in just 29 appearances this season, while also providing seven assists.

Arsenal wary of Kylian Mbappe deal
While Mbappe – who Didier Deschamps called a “world class” player – is obviously a special talent, Arsenal are said to hold some reservations about signing him.

The Independent believe Liverpool were offered the chance to sign the Frenchman in 2023 but decided not to obliterate the club wage structure to seal a deal – and there is a similar feeling at Arsenal.

Mbappe is said to earn £888,000-a-week at PSG, which is significantly more than Arsenal’s highest earner, believed to be Kai Havertz on £280,000-a-week.

Of course, nobody could argue with Mbappe earning those figures – given his status as one of the top three players on the planet right now – although Arsenal do not seem willing to stretch themselves financially to pull off a deal.
