The Gunners are working on securing deals for some of their key players, and Takehiro Tomiyasu is their latest player who has agreed a new deal at the club.
The north London giants, however, have a curious task on their hands in persuading young Cozier-Duberry to commit his future at the club.
The 18-year-old winger is yet to play for the first team but he is seen as a highly-rated young talent. Several clubs including Borussia Dortmund, Ajax, Anderlecht, Wolves and Newcastle are showing keen interest in signing the youngster, in case the deal falls through.
According to Fabrizio Romano, “talks ongoing” at the moment with the youngster, and the Gunners are ready to offer him a new deal.
“Arsenal are still in negotiations to get new deal done for English 2005 born talent Amario Cozier-Duberry. Talks ongoing,” wrote Romano on X.
“Borussia Dortmund, Ajax, Anderlecht, Wolves and Newcastle are showing interest for free transfer in June — in case talks with Arsenal collapse.”
Highly-rated
Over the years, Arsenal have produced great talents from their academy who have gone on to represent the senior side. While not all of them have gone on to become huge hits, the club have always given chances to players if he is good enough.
The youngster is showing great potential. He has managed five goals and two assists in eight appearances in Premier League two, and scored two more in the UEFA Youth league.
It doesn’t come as a big surprise that top clubs like Dortmund, Ajax, and Newcastle are vying for his signature. He has a contract at the north London club until 2024, which means he will leave for free if the Gunners fail to secure his contract extension within the next few months.
Mikel Arteta boasts a competitive squad that is challenging for major honours, but he is also keen to nurture young talents. Ideally, Cozier-Duberry should continue his growth at Arsenal, as he is expected to make the senior grade if he continues his rapid progress.
