£27m Arsenal player has now pulled out of international duty with a fresh injury - Fabrizio Romano

Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes will not be playing on international duty this week after picking up an injury.
Gabriel had been called up by Brazil for the next few weeks after impressing for Arsenal this season alongside William Saliba at centre-half.

However, in what could be a worrying blow for Mikel Arteta and the Arsenal fans, Gabriel has now pulled out of the squad and will be replaced by Gleison Bremer.

Gabriel injury concern for Arsenal
Confirmed by the Brazilian national team as well as Fabrizio Romano on social media, Gabriel will now not be taking part at all in the games against England and Spain.

“I had already communicated previously that we work with a slightly more extensive list. A pre-call, we can put it that way, and again, today, we had another casualty. Unfortunately, Gabriel Magalhaes is uncalled. In his place, we are calling Bremer, from Juventus Turin, from Italy.”

£27m man Gabriel has been a key player for both Arsenal and Brazil and while there’s no detail released on his injury here, the Gunners will be hoping it is something minor.

Arteta will have his fingers crossed
This is the last thing a team wants at this stage of the season. Quite whether Gabriel had already got the knock or not, remains to be seen.

But Arsenal fans will be concerned and they’ll be hoping for some clarity from the club so they can put supporters’ minds at ease here.

Gabriel has been brilliant all season and his partnership with William Saliba has been crucial in the run which has seen the Gunners go top.

An injury at this stage to such a key player could be catastrophic for the Gunners.
