Arsenal are reportedly the ‘most likely suitors’ to sign Newcastle star Alexander Isak at the end of the season. The Gunners are scouring the market for attacking reinforcements, with Brentford’s Ivan Toney and Napoli star Victor Osimhen previously cited as shortlisted candidates.

Mikel Arteta has made it no secret that he is keen to acquire the services of a top-quality No. 9 this summer. Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah have led the line admirably for Arsenal so far this season, though there is a growing feeling that a piece of the puzzle is still missing.

Numerous options have been explored by the Gunners over the past few months, and Newcastle’s potential need to offload players to balance the books could present the club with an opportunity to sign one of their long-term targets.

Isak has been linked with a move to Arsenal previously, and GiveMeSport report that the north London outfit are likely to reignite their interest at the end of the season. The Emirates Stadium outfit are regarded as the Sweden international’s ‘most likely suitors’, with Newcastle ‘fearing’ the level of interest that he could generate.

The Magpies are not willing to part ways with the 24-year-old cheaply though, regardless of their desire to raise funds in order to stay on the right side of the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules.
