Bayern Munich handed double injury boost with Arsenal clash looming

Harry Kane has returned to first-team training with Bayern Munich, easing injury concerns after the striker missed England’s friendly games against Brazil and Belgium.

The former Tottenham star was forced off after colliding with the post and trained away from his teammates at St George’s Park last week.

But on Wednesday, the striker resumed training alongside his club teammates in his bid to be fit in time for this weekend’s clash with Borussia Dortmund.

Bayern, who trail Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen by 10 points, take on their arch-rivals in De Klassiker on Saturday evening before a trip to Heidenheim the following week.

On 9 April, they head to north London for the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final with Arsenal.

Kane scored 14 goals in 17 Premier League meetings for Tottenham against their north London rivals and will hope to inflict similar damage as Bayern chase success in Europe.

The 38-year-old missed Germany’s friendly games against France and Netherlands as a result.

National team boss Julian Nagelsmann played down any major injury fears, telling reporters the goalkeeper would be ruled out for 10 days – a timeline that would have ruled him out against Dortmund at the weekend but available for the trip to Arsenal.

Neuer returned to individual training on Wednesday.
