'He is not going there': Gary Neville thinks Arsenal have no chance of signing £100m player

Gary Neville has now been telling Ian Wright that Arsenal won’t be able to sign a certain superstar if he returns to England in the future.

Mikel Arteta and Edu Gaspar will surely be hoping to add a few more stars to their squad in the summer, when it seems Arsenal will be busy.

As well as signing a new striker to perhaps replace Eddie Nketiah, someone who can regularly score 15 or 20 goals a season, Arsenal also need to refresh several areas of their squad.

It seems as if Arsenal could let up to seven players leave in the summer.

It’s already been confirmed by sources that Cedric Soares will be leaving, and we could also see departures for Aaron Ramsdale, Mohamed Elneny, Thomas Partey, Emile Smith Rowe, Nketiah and Reiss Nelson.

It’s all very hypothetical for now, but even if half of the names above left the club, significant investment would be needed as a result.

That being said, Gary Neville has just refuted Ian Wright’s idea that Harry Kane could come to Arsenal in the future if he ever returned to England.

Gary Neville tells Ian Wright that Arsenal could never sign Harry Kane
The pair were speaking on the ‘Stick to Football’ podcast and were initially speaking about Kane’s decision to leave England. And having jovially suggested that Arsenal would be a good club for Kane to break the Premier League goal-scoring record at one day, Neville was quick to squash Wright’s shout.

Neville initially said: “I never thought he would go to Munich, I never thought he would leave the country, I thought he was destined to break Alan Shearer’s Premier League record.

“Do you still think he has got this in his mind, that he’s coming back to break the Premier League record?”

Ian Wright replied: “As long as he comes back to Arsenal he will have a chance!”

Neville: “He is not going there!

“I just didn’t think he would go. For me the England record, I thought he would be that hung up about it, I thought he would go to a Premier League club to break the record.

“He may have had to go abroad to escape to come back.”

Harry Kane has his sights set on beating Arsenal with Bayern Munich
Unfortunately for Arsenal, it seems their only reunion with Harry Kane will be in the Champions League quarter finals.

Right now Mikel Arteta and his side will be predominantly focused on their game with Manchester City on Sunday, but it’s clear that the ‘business end’ of the season has well and truly arrived.

And although Neville has been fairly firm in stating that Wright will never get his wish, and Kane will never come to Arsenal, the club have now promised to make a bid for one player this summer.
