Thierry Henry has now made quite the claim about a player he knows very well – someone Arsenal actually sold.
The 46-year-old made the comment when collaborating with French news outlet Foot Mercato during the international break.
So, what did Thierry Henry say about a player Arsenal once sold? Let’s take a look…
Well, the Frenchman was asked to construct his dream French footballer – selecting specific traits such as heading, speed and technique to build the perfect player from his former teammates.
Henry opted to go with himself for speed and Zinedine Zidane for the best right foot, before interestingly choosing Emmanuel Petit as the best left-footed French player he has ever worked with.
The 46-year-old is well placed to comment on his fellow countryman.

Henry took to the pitch with Petit on 114 occasions throughout his hugely successful career, as the pair shared a dressing room at Monaco, Arsenal and also with the French National Team.

The duo combined to score five goals in those games.
Henry scored three – which were assisted by Petit – before assisting his fellow Frenchman for two goals as they averaged 1.92 points per game.
How much Arsenal sold Frenchman for in today’s money
Arsenal sold Petit to Barcelona back in 2000 for just £7m in a double deal alongside Marc Overmars.
That seemed like a small fee for someone who scored 11 goals and provided 24 assists in 118 appearances for Arsenal – even in today’s money, it would be a bit of a bargain for Barcelona.

The Bank of England’s inflation calculator shows that £7m in 2000 equates to £12.7m nowadays, which often isn’t enough to get you a fairly average Premier League player.
Nevertheless, Arsene Wenger eventually replaced Petit with Robert Pires and Lauren, both of whom did pretty well in north London – to say the least.
