Gary Lineker reacts to Arsenal defeat to Aston Villa at Emirates Stadium

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have suffered a setback in their quest to win the Premier League title just two hours after Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool slumped to a defeat.

Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City are the three teams aiming to win the Premier League title this season.

City were in action on Saturday afternoon. Pep Guardiola’s side, who are aiming to become the champions of England for the fourth season in a row, hammered Luton Town at the Etihad Stadium.

On Sunday afternoon, Liverpool went down 1-0 to Crystal Palace at Anfield in the league.

Then two hours later, Arsenal lost 2-0 to Aston Villa at the Emirates Stadium in North London.

City are now top with 73 points from 32 matches. Arsenal and Liverpool are second and third respectively in the table with 71 points.

Gary Lineker was following the match between Arsenal and Villa on Sunday, and, as you can see, the former Tottenham Hotspur striker has mocked the Gunners.

The BBC Match of the Day pundit has also praised former Arsenal manager Unai Emery for masterminding the win against the Gunners in North London.

Blow for Tottenham Hotspur
Arsenal are not the only North London club who will be bitterly disappointed with the result at the Emirates Stadium.

Tottenham Hotspur will not like the result either, even though Arsenal are their North London rivals.

Spurs were hammered by Newcastle United on Saturday, and on Sunday they saw their main challengers for the fourth spot, Aston Villa, win.

Villa are fourth with 63 points from 33 matches, three points clear of Spurs, who are fifth and have played 32 games.

The Villans are now in a better position than Tottenham to clinch the fourth spot in the Premier League table
