Arsenal are oozing confidence, maturity and calmness as they push to win the Premier League title.
On paper, the trip to Brighton on Saturday was one that could result in dropped points, or at least, a scare for Mikel Arteta’s side.
But it was far from that, with Arsenal securing a comfortable 3-0 win over the European-chasing side.
Bukayo Saka opened the scoring from the penalty spot, before Kai Havertz continued to prove people wrong and Leandro Trossard added the cherry on top of the cake from the bench.
During the January 2023 transfer window, Arsenal secured Trossard’s services for £27 million from Brighton after missing out on Mykhailo Mudryk.
It’s amazing how those two transfers have worked out because they have gone the opposite way.
Tim Sherwood thinks Trossard has been an ‘outstanding’ signing for what he has contributed to his title-chasing team, as he told Premier League Productions (06/04/24 at 7:45 pm).
The 28-year-old has scored eight Premier League goals this term, despite not being a regular starter under Arteta and Sherwood has highlighted the quality the Gunners now have from the bench.
Leandro Trossard’s signing at Arsenal
“Look at the quality you can bring off the bench,” said Sherwood about Trossard. “Sit down goalkeeper and just knocks it over the top of him. Outstanding!
“I think he has been a wonderful signing for the money. He has been brilliant. He assists and scores goals. He has been outstanding. Cuts across the defender and then sits the goalkeeper down. Calm as you like. Wonderful finish. When they counter, you aren’t catching them.”

Arsenal’s squad players
Those fringe players from Trossard to Emile Smith Rowe are now going to play the most crucial of roles for Arsenal.
With the team still in both major competitions – the Premier League and the Champions League – Arteta is rightfully going to go for both.
But you can’t expect all the key players to start every single match, there has to be some form of rotation and that’s where the likes of Trossard come into the picture.
