New footage from the stands at the London Stadium has given us a fresh glimpse into the spat between Mo Salah and Jurgen Klopp.

Liverpool boss Klopp and star striker Salah were involved in a heated altercation towards the end of their 2-2 draw against West Ham, which more or less put the final nail in the coffin of their Premier League titles hopes. The TNT Sports cameras swung to Klopp and Salah during a tense exchange in the dying minutes of the Saturday's early game.

Salah was benched, ready to come on as a sub after being left out of the starting line-up, raising quite a few eyebrows among fans on social media. Klopp brushed off the touchline kerfuffle in his post-match chat, saying he and Salah had cleared the air in the locker room and as far as he was concerned, it was water under the bridge.

But Salah stoked the flames when he breezed through the mixed zone, cryptically telling journos: "If I speak today there will be fire.", reports the Express. Now, a clip making rounds on social media potentially sheds new light on the dust-up, suggesting a chilly handshake might have been the catalyst for the fallout.

When Klopp summoned Salah from the bench to prepare for his introduction, the Egyptian's response to Klopp's offered handshake was delayed and minimal. Salah then shrugged off Klopp's apparent query about the lack of their usual warm pre-substitution greeting.

This led to a heated exchange between the two, after which Klopp turned to fellow substitutes Darwin Nunez and Joe Gomez for a hug and a handshake before returning his attention to the match. TV cameras caught the rest of the dispute, with Klopp making a remark that visibly angered Salah, who had to be restrained by Nunez, roughly 40 seconds after their initial chilly handshake.

Salah then distanced himself from Klopp, moving several yards down the touchline, with Gomez and Nunez standing in-between them. Despite his eventual introduction, Salah couldn't spark the comeback Liverpool needed, and he stormed straight down the tunnel at the final whistle.

After a tumultuous month, the Reds now have a full week to regroup and recuperate before they welcome Tottenham to Anfield next Sunday.
