Report: Barcelona now 'dream' of signing 'phenomenal' Arsenal player this summer to solve problem position

When it comes to Gabi Martinelli, he is one of Arsenal’s best and brightest stars and with that in mind, Barcelona would need quite the fee to even get this one in motion.
Martinelli has been lauded as a ‘phenomenal‘ talent by Mikel Arteta and there’s just no reason for the Gunners to even contemplate this one.

In the end, Barcelona can dream all they want about signing Martinelli.

But while Mikel Arteta is in charge and things are going as they are, the young Brazilian is going nowhere.Arsenal have a number of high quality players in the ranks these days and Barcelona are dreaming of landing one of them.

The Gunners are continuing to march towards the Premier League title and are in a two horse race with Manchester City right now after Liverpool’s recent failings.

For Mikel Arteta, it’s all about continuing to improve and he will have no plans whatsoever to lose any of his top stars in the summer.

That’s not to mean clubs won’t try, though.

With Arsenal having exciting young talents like Bukayo Saka, Gabi Martinelli and Martin Odegaard all playing well, there’s bound to be interest.

And according to a report from Spain, La Liga giants Barcelona are ‘dreaming’ of signing one of that aforementioned trio.

Barcelona are keen to sign a new winger this summer and have already been linked with a move for Liverpool’s Luis Diaz.

However, according to Mundo Deportivo, it is Arsenal star Gabriel Martinelli who the club ‘dreams’ of landing.

The Brazilian is described as the ‘forbidden dream on the list’ for Barca, as they plot their summer transfer strategy.

Along with Martinelli and Liverpool’s Diaz, Bilbao star Nico Williams is also mentioned, while it’s suggested Ansu Fati’s time at the club could be coming to an end.

When you’re going for league titles and big trophies, selling your best players is not something that’s a wise decision really.
