Arsenal presented with swap deal opportunity as Newcastle 'don't have agreement in place'... Who will Arsenal be swapping?

Arsenal could look to strike a player-plus-cash deal for Alexander Isak this summer, with Newcastle’s interest in Aaron Ramsdale potentially offering them encouragement over the deal. The Gunners have shortlisted the Magpies talisman as one of their top targets this summer, and a makeweight in negotiations appears to have emerged.
Mikel Arteta is keen to acquire the services of a striker this summer after opting against bolstering his forward ranks in the January transfer window, with Kai Havertz trusted to hold down the fort until the end of the season.

Numerous options are being explored at the Emirates Stadium, including Premier League-proven stars such as Ivan Toney and Evan Ferguson, as well as top talents elsewhere in Europe like Joshua Zirkzee and Benjamin Sesko.

Isak is also admired in north London, and his 20 goals in 29 league appearances so far this season has highlighted the quality that he could provide to Arsenal’s frontline. The Sweden international is far from a cheap option though, with Newcastle reportedly expected to demand £100million to secure the services of their No. 14.

Aaron Ramsdale is expected to leave Arsenal this summer
However, Arsenal may have been thrown a lifeline in negotiations for Isak by Newcastle. The Magpies have shortlisted Ramsdale as their top goalkeeper target this summer and are hopeful of making the England international one of their first signings of the window.

TalkSPORT report that an agreement is not in place at this stage despite speculation, but the interest could prove decisive in how the overall window pans out for Arsenal.
