Exclusive: Big Ramsdale update tonight as Arsenal to complete new signing

Arsenal will trigger their option-to-buy clause on goalkeeper David Raya this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
The permanent clause to take the 28-year-old Spaniard to the Emirates is £27million after he’s spent the past season on loan from Brentford.

Aaron Ramsdale wants to leave the Gunners this summer to be a number one at a top club after spending the vast majority of the campaign warming the bench in North London.

The 26-year-old’s contract is set to run until 2026 after he signed a new deal last year.

David Raya permanent Arsenal deal on cards as Aaron Ramsdale eyes exit
Raya has enjoyed an excellent season with Arsenal after nailing down the No.1 spot, having kept 20 clean sheets in 41 appearances as Mikel Arteta’s side finished runners-up to Manchester City.

Ramsdale, however, has only recorded three shut-outs in his 11 appearances after seeing his minutes in the side significantly reduced over the past nine months.

Those numbers don’t provide great reading for the goalkeeper and it’s now expected he will move on this summer.

Ramsdale has been named in the England training squad for the upcoming European Championships as he looks to secure his place on the plane to Germany and battle it out with Jordan Pickford for the starting spot.

Football Insider previously revealed London rivals Chelsea could move for Ramsdale this summer as they look to sign a new goalkeeper.

The Blues can offer him European football after a late upturn in form ensured they finished sixth in the Premier League table and are likely to be playing in the Europa League next season.
