Exit-bound Arsenal Women star could head to Aston Villa Women - BBC journalist

Aston Villa could sign Sabrina D’Angelo as her contract expires this summer while Arsenal look to replace her with Daphne van Domselaar, according to Emma Sanders.

The BBC Sport journalist reported (15 May) that Villa Park could be a “potential destination” for the Gunners shot-stopper.

This could see Jonas Eidevall make a move to sign van Domselaar from the Villans “for a fee” as a replacement option.

Should Aston Villa sell Daphne van Domselaar?
In her debut season for Villa, the Dutch international has made a positive impression in the WSL.

This has seen her appear 14 times in the league where she has kept just two clean sheets while conceding 31 goals [FotMob].

So far this campaign van Domselaar has made 51 saves, equating to 3.64 per 90, while also making 17 high claims and acting as sweeper three times.

She does excel with the ball at her feet which is one of her key attributes. This has seen her maintain a 78.9 per cent pass accuracy while playing 104 accurate long balls.

The Villans were frustrated when she picked up an injury to rule her out for the season which has seen Anna Leat take the mantle.

With one win in their last five games, it is safe to say that Carla Ward might be missing her number one.

Now that the manager is confirmed to be departing in the summer, whoever the new coach is must be allowed to make the decision.

It must be said that van Domselaar signed on a free so selling her to Arsenal with money involved, the deal may prove hard to turn down.
