City need to go and actually win their final two games. The penultimate one, away to Tottenham Hotspur, will be strange given the emotional context. The home fans may not necessarily want to win, since it could gift their great rivals the title. Arsenal meanwhile need a favour. Arteta will of course be watching that game, as he does with every big match. Some of the players will, too. Others will seek to do anything else.
It only plays into how distinctive this week will be. Arsenal need to just feel it, and not really think about any of that.
They shouldn’t even really think about City. They’ve done their part, and it is an achievement on its own terms. That is a significant contrast with two decades that have gone before. You only have to look at the numbers on the table.
