Arsenal Exclusive: Big Kai Havertz update tonight

Arsenal are in no rush to sign a new centre-forward after Kai Havertz’s performances in the 2023-24 campaign, sources have told Football Insider.
The Gunners made RB Leipzig star Benjamin Sesko their number-one priority target for the summer window, but the 21-year-old signed a new contract in Germany last week.

Arsenal will now wait and see which opportunities arise throughout the summer window but will not be forced into a panic buy in the centre-forward area.

Havertz initially came into Mikel Arteta’s side in a midfield role after arriving from Chelsea last summer (2023).

However, he was handed the responsibility of leading the line for Arsenal as their title charge heated up – and repaid Arteta’s faith with a string of crucial goals.

Arsenal in ‘no rush’ to sign new striker – Havertz to continue up front
The Germany international made 51 appearances in the 2023-24 campaign, starting in 43 of those outings.

He notched 14 goals and seven assists in his first season at the Emirates Stadium.

That form means Arsenal recruitment chiefs are not desperate to add a new forward if the right man isn’t available, with Gabriel Jesus also waiting in the wings to make a positive impact.

Havertz also leads the line for Germany and scored from the penalty spot in their 5-1 group stage win over Scotland on Friday (14 June).

Eddie Nketiah is also on the Gunners’ books but has attracted interest in the early stages of the summer transfer window.
